The Chattogram Challengers will face Khulna Titans in a crucial middle-table clash on Tuesday afternoon as the BPL moves towards its business end.

With playoffs spots still to be decided, there will be plenty at stake in the final week of the league stage. Chattogram are two points ahead of Khulna but have also played one additional game as well, which means Khulna have a fantastic opportunity to return to parity and stake their claim for the playoffs.

At this stage of the tournament, you would expect a few batters to have found their fluency and confidence. Chattogram’s batsmen, however, have failed to find that consistency that would have lifted them out of mid-table mediocrity.

Their best batsman has been Tanzid Hasan, who has racked up 266 runs at a strike rate of 123 with two fifties.

Tom Bruce has been in sprightly form in difficult conditions, with 225 runs at an average of 45 and a strike rate of 122.

Chattogram need more batsmen to contribute in more meaningful ways, which could even be cameos that could be handy on sluggish pitches, which will be a natural way for these surfaces to deteriorate this late in the season.

Two Bangladesh national players – Anamul Haque and Afif Hossain – have provided the impetus for Khulna. Both players have been quite reliable, and have chipped in with 200-plus run seasons.

Anamul has managed 251 runs at an average of 35.85 while Afif has racked up 220 runs at an average of 27.5.

Chattogram vs Khulna Tips & Predictions

At this stage of the season, it’s hard to predict which of these teams has the legs for one last concerted effort to make the postseason. Both teams have had middling seasons, as evidenced from their positions in the points table.

From a betting standpoint, this should be close to an even-money matchup considering how close they are together. However, Khulna will be aware that a couple of good results here will pave the way for a late run into the playoffs spots.

Chattogram are playing at their home venue, which should add some life into their effort. They also have a few bowlers in good form, like Bilal Khan (12 wickets) and Shohidul Islam, who has managed 10 wickets at an average of 30 and an economy rate of 8.58.

In stark contrast, Khulna don’t have any bowler in the top 10 wicket-takers this tournament. While that exhibits a fine all-round performance from the bowling department, there are concerns of reliability. Considering these factors, we’d back Chattogram in home conditions.
