RCB were restricted to just 169 for 8 in their last match against Gujarat Titans but they got that far because of a fantastic fifty from Liam Livingstone who managed 54 off 40 balls.

Mumbai have started the season in typically poor form. Out of their four matches, they have lost three, with their only win coming against KKR at this venue, which will bring them some confidence and momentum.

Tilak Varma was asked to retire out in that match because of his slow 25 off 23 balls. "He just wanted to get going but he couldn't," coach Mahela Jayawardene said. "We waited till the last few overs, because he had spent some time there so he should have been able to get that hit out of the way, but I just felt that at the end, I just needed someone fresh to go, and he was struggling.”
