Pakistan will look to keep the series alive on Friday when they face New Zealand in the third T20I in Auckland. Pakistan have been battered and bruised badly so far in this series with two heavy losses that have left New Zealand on the verge of a series victory.

In the previous match, Pakistan were better with the bat, posting 135 for 9 in their 15 overs in a rain-curtailed contest. However, New Zealand needed just 13.1 overs to comfortably chase down that total.

New Zealand have been exceptional in this tour so far, with two terrific performances against a team that historically struggled against quality pace and bounce. That is highly likely to continue in similar conditions in Auckland.

Pakistan Form

Captain Salman Agha came good in the second match with 46 off 28 balls in a terrific show of boundary hitting that included four fours and three sixes. Shadab Khan chipped in with 26 off 14 balls and Shaheen Afridi managed 22 off 14.

With the ball, Haris Rauf took two wickets while three other bowlers managed one wicket apiece. Shaheen Afridi bowled one maiden but also conceded 31 in his remaining two overs.

Pakistan’s youngsters have not produced much so far in this series. However, Pakistan may still stick with them to give them more chances.

"You talk about criticism, I think it has become common in Pakistan," Haris Rauf said. "These are young players. You go to any place, any team in the world, they give the youngsters full freedom. If they give the youngsters a chance, they make sure to give them 10 to 15 matches at a stretch. That is how they become players.

New Zealand Form

New Zealand don’t have too many problems with their form. Quite the opposite actually. Another disciplined bowling performance saw Jacob Duffy, Ben Sears, James Neesham and Ish Sodhi take two wickets each.

Tim Seifert scored 45 off 22 balls while Finn Allen smashed 38 off just 16 balls. Mitchell Hay scored 21 off 16 balls.

New Zealand have stuck to a combination that has worked well for them with the pacers given enough bowling on pitches that have bounced. That will continue against a young Pakistan team.
