Rangpur Riders vs Chattogram Challengers Tips & Preview - Chattogram to upset Riders in BPL?

First-placed Rangpur Riders will face the Chattogram Challengers in a crucial contest that could dictate how the teams stack up for the playoffs. 

Rangpur Riders, along with Comilla Victorians, have been one of the best teams this season. While both of those teams have seven wins in nine games, Rangpur are at the top of the table courtesy a better net run-rate, which is presently at 1.870. 

This will be an opportunity to solidify that position and make the top of the points table solely theirs. 

Chattogram have had a solid season too, with five wins in nine games. They have, however, suffered a few heavy defeats, which has impacted their net run-rate negatively to the point that it has dropped to -0.884. They are tied with Barisal in points but will face pressure from Khulna Titans, who are one two points behind and with a game in hand against bottom-placed Dhaka. 

Chattogram’s local talent has stood up to the challenge this season, with three players having managed in seven or more wickets so far this tournament. 

Leading the charge is Bilal Khan, who has managed 10 wickets at an economy rate of 8.67, followed by Al-Amin Hossain with eight wickets and Shohidul Islam, with seven wickets. 

Tanzid Hasan, who has been in and out of the national team, has led the team’s batting charts with 183 runs at an average of 22.87. 

Avishka Fernando and Shahadat Hossain both have managed 174 runs while Tom Bruce has racked up 153 runs in just five matches. 

Despite Babar Azam’s imminent absence, Rangpur Riders will start as heavy favourites for this game. However, there may be a case here to consider the underdogs considering the potential payout with odds of 3.0. 

Chattogram don’t necessarily match up, on paper, against Rangpur but they have enough depth in their batting department to upset the table leaders in this one.
