After 18 years, there will finally be a new winner in the IPL. Punjab Kings beat Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier to make the final while RCB earlier beat Punjab in the first qualifier to become the first team in the final. 

Both teams have had excellent seasons, as was evident from them finishing first and second respectively. RCB have had a few extra days of rest, which will serve them well going into the grand final.

RCB didn’t need much time in dispatching Punjab Kings in the previous game as their bowlers came to the party from the outset. RCB had Punjab bowled out for 101, led by three-wicket hauls from Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma.

Punjab recovered quickly from a poor batting display to chase down 204 against a strong Mumbai team. They found decent production with the ball from several avenues but the story of the match belonged to Shreyas Iyer, who hit 87 off just 41 balls. 

Nehal Wadhera struck 48 off 29 balls while Josh Inglis struck 38 off just 21 balls to ensure that the chase was always in their grasp.
