West Indies vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI Preview

West Indies put in yet another clinical performance at home to beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second ODI to complete the ODI series win.

Jayden Seales put in a sensational bowling performance of pace bowling as he returned figures of 4 for 22 to help West Indies bowl Bangladesh out for 227.

Brandon King’s rapid 82 off just 76 balls (with eight fours and three sixes) along with handy contributions from Evin Lewis (49 off 62) and Keacy Carty (45 off 47 balls) pushed West Indies comfortably over the line with over 13 overs to spare.

It was yet another spirited performance from this West Indies team that has already shown a new style under captain Shai Hope that seems to be reinvigorating cricket in the region.

West Indies Form

West Indies have now completed two relatively tricky chases with enviable ease. In the first ODI, West Indies chased down 295 with five wickets and 14 balls to spare.

Their chase in the second ODI was far more comfortable but they romped to the target with 79 balls to spare, an indicator that their batting order has picked up a new form of batting that West Indies are attuned to from their world-dominating T20I years.

It's highly likely that West Indies will continue that form of batting even in the third ODI, which could give you more options if you’re looking for betting markets.

West Indies’ pace battery is also now starting to find rhythm and momentum, which could make for interesting viewing against more challenging ODI teams.

West Indies Team News

With the series done, West Indies could consider some changes to their team to include more members from their squad in this dead rubber.

Bangladesh Form

Bangladesh’s bowling has come under fire from this solid West Indies batting unit. In two ODIs, their attack has picked up just eight wickets, which will be a cause for immediate concern in Bangladesh’s camp.

While their batting has fired, there are also a few problems with the depth of their hitting potential against a team that thrives on big hits. Bangladesh need to change their style of play quickly to stand a chance against this efficient West Indies team.

Bangladesh Team News

Like West Indies, there could be a few changes to Bangladesh’s team for the final ODI, particularly in the bowling department.

Verdict

Bangladesh hit nine sixes in 46 overs in the second ODI. In 36 overs, West Indies hit 10 sixes. Even in the first ODI, West Indies hit 12 sixes to Bangladesh’s 10.

Both of those matches were chases. If West Indies bat first, they could comfortably hit over 15 sixes on a small ground in Basseterre. That could be a different betting market that you could target.
