Afghanistan vs Bangladesh ODI Preview & Tips

Afghanistan were able to easily beat Zimbabwe in their ODI tri-series match as they cruised to a 158-run win over their opponents.

Bangladesh have had to bide their time to get back out to the middle after their stunning 99-run loss to Zimbabwe in their opening match of their ODI tri-series.

Across their last 10 ODI meetings, Afghanistan have secured six wins while Bangladesh have won four times.

Afghanistan were far too good for Zimbabwe in their ODI tri-series opener as they stormed to a comfortable 158-run win.

The opening match of their ODI tri-series saw them take on a Zimbabwe outfit that had hammered Bangladesh by 99 runs in their opener. In their clash, Sediqullah Atal starred with a score of 102 while Rashid Khan was typically miserly as he took 4/17 as they bowled their opponents out for just 136.

With Bangladesh desperate for a win, Afghanistan can decide which of the sides secures the spots in the final of the tri-series. A win for Afghanistan will knock Bangladesh out, while a win for the latter blows the final wide open as net run rate comes into the equation.

Bangladesh are still in contention to secure a spot in the final, but I predict that Afghanistan will knock them out. Afghanistan have won their last four against their opponents, and I back them to surge to a fifth win.

Bangladesh were not good enough in their ODI tri-series opener against Zimbabwe as they slumped to a crushing 99-run loss at the hands of their opponents.

In their match against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh would have been fairly happy after restricting their opponents to 271/8. However, they could not get a handle on their target as they slumped to 172 all out. Tanzid Hasan’s 46 from 38 was their top score on a day in which their batting unit struggled for any kind of momentum.

Now, Bangladesh will need to find a way to deal with Afghanistan’s multi-faceted bowling attack whilst also adding at least 80 runs to their paltry total of 172 against Zimbabwe. The worry will be that Afghanistan should provide a sterner test than Zimbabwe, and this is a test I predict that Bangladesh will fail.
