PSG's dominance on the pitch was clear for all to see as they stormed to yet another Champions League crown at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Their win over Arsenal in the final came after they eliminated Monaco, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich. On the back of a very tough run to the final, few could argue with PSG being the worthy winners of the trophy.
Now, the French side are eyeing up a third successive Champions League crown. However, after the opening matchday, PSG have seen their odds drift slightly, with Barcelona installed as the new favourites.
PSG sit alongside Arsenal and Bayern Munich, with Real Madrid and Manchester City also available. The opening round of the campaign saw all of Barca, PSG, the Gunners, Bayern, Real and City win, but Barcelona's 5-1 win over Feyenoord has seen them installed as favourites.
In a show of real strength for the competition, the likes of Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Roma are all seen as outside shots to win the tournament. While each is a strong side, they are a few steps behind the very best.
This season, the focus for most will be on finding a way to loosen PSG's hold on the trophy. The French side have implemented a brand of football that has continually proved too much for their opponents. While the likes of Arsenal, Bayern, Barcelona and City all have the ability to beat PSG in a one-off match, defeating their opponents across two-legs is incredibly tough.
With the new season here, teams have to make sure their first few matchdays are positive, or they risk falling behind the top places. PSG have the benefit of being by far and away the best side in Ligue 1, meaning they have usually wrapped up the title long before the Champions League final.
Meanwhile, most of the other top sides have to play their best XI's until the end of the season as the battle for their domestic trophy goes down to the wire. Could this once again see PSG secure the biggest trophy in club football?
