Australia vs Bangladesh Women 3rd ODI Preview & Tips
Australia Women have been superb across their 50 over series against Bangladesh after cruising into an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Bangladesh Women knew they were right up against it in their series against Australia, and they have not been able to get anywhere near their hosts in a tough tour for the side.
- Phoebe Litchfield has scored 147 runs for Australia in the series so far
- Australia have won their last eight ODI’s
Head To Head
Australia have won all seven of their previous ODI matches against Bangladesh.
Australia Women Form
Australia Women have swatted Bangladesh aside in their two opening matches after securing wins by nine wickets and seven wickets.
Batting second in both games, Australia have restricted Bangladesh to 166 and 220/6 before storming home in double-quick time, with neither of their chases taking longer than 28.1 overs. In both games, Australia have seen Phoebe Litchfield provide excellent foundations for the home team with knocks of 77 and 70.
Litchfield has continually proved to be a major thorn in Bangladesh’s side, and I predict she will continue to star in the third ODI. Australia’s target at the start of the series would have been to notch a 3-0 win, and I back them to do just that as they breeze past the touring team.
Bangladesh Women Form
Bangladesh Women arrived for their series against Australia on the back of a 2-1 loss to Sri Lanka, with their three-wicket win over their opponents immediately followed by defeats by four wickets and seven wickets.
Their matches against Australia have ended in defeats by seven wickets and nine wickets, with the touring side struggling with bat and ball. Their score of 220/6 in the second ODI always looked well short at the end of 50 overs, while they were bowled out for 166 in the first ODI.
If Bangladesh are to win the final ODI then they have to build a score of over 280 to put any kind of pressure on their hosts. This will then need to be followed by a miserly bowling display in which they ramp up the pressure and take wickets. However, this Aussie side is so good that they will fancy themselves to chase down any score.
While Bangladesh have a clean slate in the final ODI, I do not predict that they will end their losing run.
Verdict
I am backing Litchfield to continue to score runs for the Aussies as the home side secure a 3-0 series win.
