Australia vs New Zealand Women 3rd T20 Preview & Tips - Australia to seal thumping 3-0 T20 series win

New Zealand Women battled hard in the second T20, but they were ultimately outclassed by the best team in women's cricket. 

While New Zealand are not in the same bracket as their hosts or England and India, they are still fully capable of beating any side in the world on their day. Australia's 11-game winning run against New Zealand spans all the way back to March of 2021, and while they were pushed hard in their two-wicket win in the first T20, they have since reverted to the sort of big winning margin we have come to expect from the Aussies.

The second T20 saw Australia close on 167/7 before restricting New Zealand to 127/8. Ashleigh Gardner was the star of the show as she went at 186.67 on her way to 84 from just 45 deliveries. I back Gardner to add to her impressive score as she puts New Zealand's bowlers to the sword once again. 

Despite restricting Australia to 1/1, 16/2 and 41/3, New Zealand saw their hosts power to 167/7. While a number of New Zealand's batters made starts, none could put on a show like Gardner. Indeed, a top score of 32 from Amelia Kerr came in 38 deliveries as the tourists were denied a shot at a series win with one game to come. 

New Zealand's poor run against the Aussies was always likely to continue considering the former's disappointing run in the T20 game in general. With six defeats coming from their last 10 in the shortest format, I predict that New Zealand will have to simply learn from a clash with the best as they move on to far more winnable series in the future.
