Bangladesh vs Ireland Women T20 Preview & Tips - Bangladesh backed for victory over Ireland

Ireland Women were edged out in their last game against South Africa as the latter secured a 15-run win over the former. 

In that loss, Bangladesh struggled to find an incisive edge as New Zealand posted a very competitive score of 193/3. With the bat, Bangladesh stuttered as momentum was continually snatched away from them. Only two of their batters were able to return a strike rate above 100.00, while the eight wickets they lost saw them fail to build the momentum they needed. 

This loss was another example of Bangladesh being someway behind the top sides. Fortunately for Bangladesh, the Irish side they take on are not near the upper-echelons of the game. With this in mind, I am backing Bangladesh to pick up a crucial win as they bounce back from their loss to New Zealand. 

In their clash with South Africa, Ireland looked good with the ball as they restricted their opponents to 135/8 in a game limited to 18 overs per side. Had it not been for Laura Wolvaardt's 66 from 39, South Africa might have struggled to breach the 100-run mark. While their bowlers kept Ireland well in the game, their batters struggled. A top score of 29 from Leah Paul saw the Irish bowled out for 120, with the side slumping to a 15-run loss. 

Like Bangladesh, Ireland are looking to head into the World Cup on the back of a solid run. They have every chance of beating a side they are well-matched against, but I predict that their head to head, which sees the Irish winning just four of their last 10 against Bangladesh, will see them lose this one.
