Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview & Tips – Super Kings backed for crucial IPL win over Sunrisers

Sunrisers Hyderabad have hit a rough patch in form of late, with the side losing two of their last three matches. 

Chennai Super Kings have defied belief this season, with the side battling onto 12 points from 12 games as they have kept their hopes of an unlikely top four spot alive. 

Their haul means they are well and truly in the playoff equation, and if they can beat a misfiring Sunrisers Hyderabad then they will keep their hopes of appearing in the post-season intact. Despite losing six of their 12 total matches, CSK have put together a run of three wins in their last four heading into their penultimate game. 

CSK’s impressive run has been built on some excellent batting displays along with a bowling unit that has the ability to knock the opposition over. While they are not the best side in the competition, they are capable of beating any side on their day, and I back them to double down on the momentum they have created with another win. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad are in need of a win after slumping to two defeats in their last three matches. 

Particularly worrying was their batting performance in their last outing. Set 169 to win against Gujarat Titans, SRH were embarrassed in an 82-run defeat that saw them bowled out for 86 in 14.5 overs. 

SRH still have their fate in their own hands with regard to securing a playoff spot, while they will feel like a Qualifier spot is not out of their reach. However, with Royal Challengers Bangalore awaiting them in their final game, they will not want to leave underlining their top four hopes to their final outing. 

The worry for SRH is that they have been woeful with the bat in two of their last three. Incredibly, against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, they scored in excess of 225 each time. Against Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans, SRH were bowled out for 165 and 86 respectively. When their batting has been bad, it has been awful, and I predict they will struggle in this one.
