Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings Preview & Tips - Gujarat tipped to secure their place in the IPL Qualifier

Chennai Super Kings have to win their final match and hope results go their way as they look to secure their place in the IPL playoffs. 

Frustratingly, they saw their five-game winning run brought to an end by Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game. In that clash, KKR stormed to 247/2 before restricting GT to 218/4. While Shubman Gill starred with an impressive score of 85 from 49, their top order could not quite accelerate quickly enough to keep up with the required run rate. 

This loss means that their final game against Chennai Super Kings is one that can secure them a place in the Qualifiers, with the side keen to avoid having to play in the first Eliminator. With two wins across their last three against CSK, I am backing GT to secure an important win heading into the playoffs. 

This made it consecutive defeats in the IPL for CSK, while they have now lost seven of their 13 matches. With 12 points in the bank, CSK need to beat GT and hope for the perfect run of results elsewhere. Unfortunately for CSK, they were unable to secure a playoff spot when it was in their hands, and I do not foresee others doing them the necessary favours this week. 

Having had to stomach an eight-wicket loss to their opponents back in April along with a poor run heading into this one, I am backing CSK to see any hopes of securing a playoff spot ended by GT.
