India vs West Indies 2nd ODI Preview & Tips - Kohli to star as India beat the Windies yet again

The West Indies would have felt they had enough runs on the board to give India something to think about, but a lack of wicket-taking intent saw their score of 295/7 easily eclipsed. 

India have won nine of their last 10 ODI's against the West Indies, with the latter notching a single victory in this time. 

Despite seeing the Windies work their way to 135 without loss, India were able to battle back via Kuldeep Yadav, who removed John Campbell (62) and centurion Justin Greaves (101). 

With the exception of Amir Jangoo (58 not out), no other touring batter could really get going, and this was credit to India's bowlers, with only one bowler going at more than 7.00-per-over. In reply, Rohit Sharma (32) and Shubman Gill (110) started well, but it was the exploits of Virat Kohli (139 not out) that took the headlines as he put the bowling unit of the West Indies to the sword. 

Kohli's stunning innings featured 10 boundaries and nine maximums and came from just 88 deliveries. His destructive batting meant that any hope the Windies had of defending their score of 295 was squashed. 

Now, India will have complete focus on going 2-0 up in the series and making it six wins in their last eight in the ODI game. Kohli continues to impress in the 50 over format, and I predict that the Windies will once again fail to get rid of him cheaply. 

The West Indies saw openers Campbell (62) and Greaves (101) score well over half the total runs of their side as the pair fought hard to give their team a solid platform to build on. 

However, familiar failings with the bat reared their head as only two of their next seven batters could make it to 20 runs or more. While 295 would be a solid score against most sides, the Windies knew they needed a string of quick wickets to make a game of the first ODI. While Rohit Sharma (32) fell before India hit triple figures, they could not remove Gill (110) or Kohli (139 not out) before the damage had been done. 

Eight defeats in their last 10 ODI's and nine defeats in their last 10 against India in the 50 over format shows that the Windies are not the side to back in this one, especially if they continue to fail in their attempts to remove India's two best batters.
