Manchester Super Giants vs Welsh Fire Preview & Tips
Manchester Super Giants were easily beaten by MI London in their last outing as they slipped to a 45-run loss.
Welsh Fire stormed to a six-wicket win over Southern Brave in their last match as they made it consecutive victories in the competition.
- Welsh Fire have won their last three against the Super Giants
Head To Head
Welsh Fire have won three of their previous five against the Super Giants, with the latter winning the other two meetings.
Manchester Super Giants Form
Manchester Super Giants went from perfection after their opening two matches to three consecutive defeats, with the side in need of a kickstart in their sixth game.
Last time out, the Super Giants saw MI London storm to 183/6 as Will Jacks (62 from 31) and Nichols Pooran (54 from 28) went after Manchester’s bowlers. In reply, the Super Giants could not string enough partnerships together as Aiden Markram’s half-century was not matched by another teammate.
While the Super Giants have the firepower with both bat and ball to beat anyone, they are clearly finding it difficult to string together complete performances right now. Three consecutive defeats in The Hundred and defeats in their last three against the Fire alludes to this one ending as another tough outing for the Manchester side.
Welsh Fire Form
Welsh Fire were able to secure a statement six-wicket win over Southern Brave in their last outing as they romped to victory. Chasing 116 to win, the Fire managed to arrest any worries of a collapse as Matt Short's unbeaten 60 brought his side home. This came despite Phil Salt (four), Rachin Ravindra (zero) and Joe Root (17) struggling.
On the road, Welsh Fire are perfect. Two matches have resulted in wins over the Southern Brave and Birmingham Phoenix, with Wales’ only participant in the competition threatening to take one of the top three positions in the standings in 2026.
If the likes of Ravindra, Root and Salt get going with the bat, then the Fire are always in the game. If they can build a solid foundation for their middle-order to go big, then I predict another triumph for the travelling side as they make it four consecutive wins over the Super Giants.
Verdict
I am backing Welsh Fire to ease to victory over their misfiring hosts as the Super Giants succumb to a fourth successive defeat.
