Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore were looking set to defend their title when they started the new season with two straight wins, including a terrific 200-plus chase in the opener against Gujarat Giants.

What has followed will trouble the franchise till the start of next season. They have now lost five on the bounce to be dumped out of the tournament along with UP Warriorz, the team that beat them in the previous match.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have had no such trouble, particularly with their balance. Their four overseas stars have done the bulk of the work, which has led to their qualification as they look to confirm a spot in the top two.

Mumbai Indians Form

Mumbai have been in sprightly form throughout this tournament. While they have played the occasional bad game, they have been one of the most consistent and reliable teams, not just this year but also in the last few seasons.

Mumbai will be pleased with the return to form for Hayley Matthews, who scored a fifty against UP Warriorz, and Amelia Kerr, who picked up a five-for in that match. Harmanpreet Kaur hasn’t scored too many runs but there won’t be too many concerns around her form.

Mumbai Indians Team News

In an important game for their seeding, Mumbai are unlikely to tinker with their team too much.

RCB have pride to play for as their season ends on Monday. The first step in their journey will be to snap their current five-game losing streak. RCB were beaten by UP Warriorz in their previous match after conceding 225 for 5.

Richa Ghosh kept RCB in the hunt with 69 off 33 balls while Ellyse Perry and S Meghana added rapid cameos of 28 and 27 respectively. Sneh Rana added 26 off 6 but by then, the game was all but done.
