Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd T20 Preview & Tips

Pakistan were exceptionally good in the second T20 as they easily beat Sri Lanka in a statement 82-run victory.

Sri Lanka could not get anywhere near Pakistan in the second T20 as any hopes of keeping the series alive as a contest were dashed.

Pakistan have won seven of their last 10 against Sri Lanka with the latter winning the other three.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan put in a brilliant performance with bat and ball in the second T20 as they roared past the touring side in an 82-run victory.

Their score of 215/3 in 120 deliveries always looked like it would be out of reach for Sri Lanka as Maaz Sadaqat (96 from 51) and Sahibzada Farhan (73 from 44) took Sri Lanka's bowling unit apart. The pair smashed a combined 12 maximums and 10 boundaries in a stunning display of T20 batting.

With the ball, Pakistan took regular wickets as they restricted the touring side to just 133/7. Sri Lanka have looked well off the pace across the series, but Pakistan have also been very good in an aggressive pair of outings.

Sahibzada Farhan continues to star with the bat for Pakistan and I back him to return to give Sri Lanka's bowlers nightmares. The captain of the home team is nearing 200 runs across the series, and I predict that he will lead his side to victory.

Sri Lanka Form

Sri Lanka have been abysmal across the series, with the contest already over after Sri Lanka's pair of defeats.

The second T20 saw Sri Lanka fail to get rid of Farhan and Sadaqat as the pair plundered 169 runs between them. With only three wickets falling for Pakistan across the clash, Sri Lanka knew they would have to be nearly perfect to chase down a winning total of 216.

Despite avoiding the ignominy of being bowled out, Sri Lanka were always well behind the required run rate as they slumped to 64/5 after 10.1 overs. While the pair are fairly well-matched in the grand scheme of things, the difference between their current form has been underlined in this series.

Sri Lanka have been nowhere near good enough so far, and I predict they will slump to a 3-0 T20 series loss.

I am backing Sahibzada Farhan to continue to fill his boots with runs as Pakistan storm to a big series win over the touring side.
