Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants Preview & Tips – Royals to maintain Qualifier hopes with win over Super Giants

Rajasthan Royals slumped to a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals that has landed a serious blow on their top four hopes. 

RR have won five of their seven against LSG, with the latter winning the other two of their previous games. 

Their latest outing saw RR battle to 193/8 in their 20 overs against a Delhi Capitals outfit they would have backed themselves to beat. However, they lacked that killer edge with the ball as DC eased to a five-wicket win. With just two games of their season left to come, RR have to find a way to end their three-game losing run. 

Fortunately for RR, they have beaten LSG in five of their previous seven matches. While LSG have managed to win two of their last three, they have nothing to play for, and I predict that this will see them slide to another frustrating loss in their penultimate game. 

Lucknow Super Giants were outstanding last time out as they finally saw an undoubtedly talented squad perform in a brilliant all-round display. 

With the ball, LSG restricted CSK to a very disappointing 187/5 as the in-form side stuttered to an entirely chaseable score. With the bat, Mitchell Marsh shone with a score of 90 from 38 that broke the back of the chase. By the time Marsh was dismissed, the score was 135/2 after 11.5 overs with a huge amount of firepower still to come. 

If LSG were able to play like that in each game then they would be battling for a playoff spot this term. As it is, LSG are hoping to drag themselves off the bottom of the table with the side able to end on a maximum of 12 points. Despite this, a lack of anything to really play for in this one will more than likely work against LSG as they slump to a ninth defeat in 13 league games.
