Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians Preview & Tips

Rajasthan Royals came out on top in a stunning battle with the Gujarat Titans as they secured a win by six runs.

Mumbai Indians were beaten by the Delhi Capitals in their last outing as they slipped to a six-wicket loss.

RR have won their first two IPL matches in 2026

RR have won four of their last 10 against MI, with the latter winning the other six.

Rajasthan Royals Form

Rajasthan Royals have started the new season in stunning form with a pair of wins coming against the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans.

Their last outing saw RR smash their way to 210/6 in their 20 overs as they put GT's bowlers to the sword. However, they struggled to contain the opposition's batters as GT hammered their way to 204/8. While they did extract the win, it was a lot tighter than they would have liked in a match that saw 414 runs scored.

Now, RR turn their attention to a MI side that will be desperate to bounce back after slipping to a defeat against Delhi Capitals. While this will be a tight match, I am backing RR to extend their impressive run as they make it three consecutive wins in the IPL this season.

Mumbai Indians Form

Mumbai Indians would have been very confident heading into their clash with DC in their second game after beating Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets in their opener.

Their woes were built on a poor batting performance as they laboured to 162/6 in their 20 overs. With the ball, MI struggled to take wickets as a superb score of 90 from 51 for Sameer Rizvi led DC to the win.

With RR in big-scoring mood with the bat, MI cannot afford to allow their batting unit to struggle for runs. However, on their performance in their last game I believe they will struggle to match their opponents as they slide to consecutive defeats.

Verdict

I am backing RR to secure a third successive win this season as they continue to impress in the IPL.
