Zimbabwe vs West Indies Women 2nd T20 Preview & Tips

Zimbabwe Women were restricted to just 97/9 in their 20 overs as they laboured to a disappointing score in the first T20.

The West Indies Women cruised to their target of 98 in just 12.5 overs as they began their T20 series against Zimbabwe with a big win.

Zimbabwe Women were blown away by the Windies in their opening T20 clash as the home side failed to fire with bat or ball.

Atter being restricted to 97/9 in their 20 overs, Zimbabwe failed to create pressure with the ball. Indeed, the second wicket for the Windies fell with the scores level, showing how large the margin of difference between the pair was.

In the second T20, the focus must be on building a score of at least a run-per-ball, while Zimbabwe need to build pressure via dot balls when in the field. The West Indies had 43 deliveries spare by the end the match, showing there was neither scoreboard pressure nor the worry of running out of wickets.

The West Indies Women were brilliant in their opening T20 against Zimbabwe as they cruised to an eight-wicket win with 43 deliveries to spare.

While Zimbabwe did not necessarily collapse, they did lose wickets regularly, with this seeing the home side post an underwhelming score of 97/9. In response, the Windies made it to 38 runs before losing a wicket before powering towards the win. The difference between the pair was evident before the start of the match, and it has only been further highlighted after the touring side won so convincingly.

The second T20 is a big chance to wrap the series up and put further distance between themselves and a three-game losing run in the shortest format. Realeanna Grimmond was in good form with the bat in the first T20 with 34 from 25, and I back her to continue to score runs in the second T20.
