Croatia vs England
Croatia need a positive result in their clash with England after their comfortable 4-1 loss to Spain in their last game. This followed on from a 2-1 win over Czechia in their opener, meaning Croatia have taken three points from a possible six. Currently level with England in the group, this is a big chance to move three clear of their opponents. However, this would require them to end a three-game losing run against England. While home advantage will give them a boost, they are up against it if they are to beat England in this one.
England slipped to defeat in an entertaining 3-2 loss to Spain in their opener as the world champions secured an impressive win on the road. Defeat for England came via a number of errors on the field as they were the architects of their own downfall. Against Czechia, England dominated. Through being the better side and playing 55 minutes with a man advantage, England eased to a 2-0 win. Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane made it goals in consecutive games as the pair continued their impressive form. Gordon provides longer odds than Kane to score again and I am backing him to hit the back of the net once again.
Spain vs Czechia
Spain are halfway to a perfect run in the current international break after beating England and Croatia in their opening Nations League matches. Their 3-2 victory over England was an enthralling contest between two good sides, while their 4-1 win over Croatia saw the Spanish really showcase how much better than their opponents they are. Lamine Yamal has made a point of being Spain's focal point in attack, and I back the youngster to make it three consecutive games in which he scores after netting against England and Croatia.
Czechia need a win at the weekend after slumping to a pair of defeats on their own patch against Croatia and England. Against Croatia, Czechia went 1-0 and 2-1 down in a game they will feel they could have won before they let themselves down in a 2-0 loss to England as they played the majority of the game a man down. Their away game against Spain is their toughest test on this international break, and I predict they will really struggle against a team that will likely pass them into submission.
Verdict
I am backing Anthony Gordon and Lamine Yamal to find the back of the net for England and Spain respectively.
