England vs India Women 3rd T20 Preview & Tips

England Women made the most out of a solid batting display in the second T20 as they secured a crucial 26-run win over India in Bristol.

India Women crumbled from 109/2 to 142/9 as their battle to chase down 169 to win ended in a frustrating loss.

England have won five of their last 10 T20’s against India with the latter winning the other five.

England Women Form

England Women needed a statement performance in the second T20 after losing to India by 38 runs in their opening clash.

In the second T20, England went about setting India a target of 169 to win in industrious style. Freya Kemp’s blistering 39 from 13 was the standout score as the home side finished strongly. With the ball, Kemp also impressed, returning figures of 2/15 as she took the player of the match award in an impressive English win.

The third T20 is a straight shootout between the pair for the spoils, and I back it to be one that England win. When they get it right, England are very tough to stop. Their batters need to build on an impressive performance in the second T20, and I back them to do so as they secure the series win.

India Women Form

India Women could not quite reach the heights of their performance in the first T20 as they were restricted to 142/9 when chasing 169 to win.

Smriti Mandhana (32) looked solid with the bat, but she was let down by a batting order that saw their fifth to 11th batters contribute just 22 runs. Ultimately, this all helped to contribute to India’s downfall as they went from 109/2 to 142/9.

Smriti Mandhana continues to prove her quality and importance at the top of the order and she will be the key wicket in the match. If she is able to get up ahead of steam then England will struggle to contain the touring side. However, while I back the opener to impress with the bat, I do not tip India to win this one as they slump to a 2-1 series defeat.

I am backing England to storm to a 2-1 comeback win over India despite Mandhana scoring well for the tourists.
