India vs West Indies Women T20 Preview & Tips

India Women are looking to build towards the T20 World Cup after suffering a brace of defeats at the hands of England in their last two outings.

The West Indies Women were edged out by Ireland in a one-run loss via the DLS method in their last completed T20.

India have won nine of their last 10 against the Windies (L1)

In their last 10 meetings, the Windies have secured a single win while India have won the other nine in a dominant run of form.

India's three-match T20 series against England was one the touring side would have hoped may end in a statement series win, especially after going 1-0 up after on game.

However, struggles with the bat saw them post scores of 142/9 and 180/5 as England won by 26 runs and six wickets in those respective games. While India's bowlers looked dangerous when things came together, they were outdone by a side that played the conditions brilliantly.

Their series against the West Indies will provide another opportunity to get used to a British weather system that will likely change with each game at the World Cup. The Windies do not provide a truly world class opponent, but they will still be a challenge that India's batters and bowlers should rise to.

West Indies Form

The West Indies Women arrive on the back of a clash with Pakistan that ended with the latter grinding to 111/7 after 16.5 overs, with the bowling attack of the Windies on top.

This no result means that the last completed game the Windies played in ended in a defeat against Ireland, while they have lost six of their last eight T20's. Heading into the T20 World Cup, the Windies will be desperate to get back to winning ways, but they take on one of the favourites for the trophy in a match they will struggle in.

Against India, the Windies have been poor. A nine-wicket win over their opponents back in December 2024 constitutes their only win across their last 14 meetings, with India cruising to a number of big wins in this time. With the West Indies struggling for any kind of momentum against India, I am backing them to slump to another frustrating loss.
