Zimbabwe vs South Africa Women 4th T20 Preview & Tips

Zimbabwe Women have seen any chance of securing an unlikely series win over South Africa evade them after they slumped to a third consecutive defeat against their opponents.

South Africa Women were outstanding against Zimbabwe in the third T20 as they lost a single wicket on their way to an 80-run triumph.

Laura Wolvaardt went with a strike rate of 203.23 in her 126 not out from 62 deliveries

The pair have met three times in the T20 game, with South Africa cruising to wins in all three matches.

Zimbabwe Women Form

Zimbabwe Women could not get anywhere near South Africa in the third T20 as they were outclassed with bat and ball.

Laura Wolvaardt (126 not out) tore through Zimbabwe's bowling attack as she smashed 16 boundaries and four maximums. No Zimbabwe bowler could go at a run-per-ball or less, with five of the seven bowlers used going at 10.50 an over or more.

In reply, Zimbabwe's batting unit cracked under the pressure. Nyasha Gwanzura's 28 from 23 saw the opener try to wrestle with the weight of losing the next five batters for five runs or less. As the overs wore down, Zimbabwe knew they were already out of the game, with South Africa sealing an 80-run win with three deliveries of Zimbabwe's innings left unused.

Could the fact South Africa have already won the series give Zimbabwe hope of winning the fourth T20? Unlikely. South Africa are consummate professionals and will know the likes of Australia, India and England would look to surge towards a 5-0 series win.

I predict more pain for the home side in this one as they lose for the 15th consecutive time in the T20 game.

South Africa Women Form

South Africa Women did not need a second invitation to secure the series victory as they notched a third successive win in the series.

Wins by six wickets and 64 runs in the first two T20's made way for an even bigger 80-run win in their third encounter. Laura Wolvaardt underlined her claim to being the best batter in the women's game as she put Zimbabwe's bowlers to the sword in a stunning innings that returned 126 runs.

Wolvaardt will see this as another chance to go big with the bat and I back her to do so. South Africa are chasing a seventh win in their last eight T20's and I predict they will surge into a 4-0 series lead over their hosts.
