The biggest tournament in sport returns this year, with the FIFA World Cup set to fill the summer with as much football as possible.

The tournament will see the top sides from across the world partaking, but the European sides are the ones favoured in the odds, with favourites Spain closely followed by France and England.

Brazil and Portugal follow with reigning champions Argentina next. European teams continue to dominate the top of the odds with Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium coming next.

In the intense heat that many of the matches are forecasted to be played in, anything could happen. Nations that are not used to playing in the scorching heat will need to find a way to deal with the change in weather conditions, while sides that are used to playing in hot conditions may have an advantage.

Argentina will be an interesting prospect to many at the tournament this year. The reigning champions are among the pod of favourites but short of Spain at the head of the betting.

If Argentina can build up ahead of steam, then they will be tough to stop, although there are a number of teams playing at the tournament that will fancy their chances. This simply means that the reigning champions may have to be even better than they were in 2022 to defend their crown.

Can Argentina defend their World Cup title or will one of the European heavyweights lift the trophy?
