The 2026/27 Premier League season has already seen a huge amount of change, with new teams, players and managers thrown into the pressure-cooker that is England’s top league.

Arsenal are the favourites to secure the trophy again this year, but they have not been perfect, beating Coventry, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Sunderland, Leeds and Nottingham Forest whilst succumbing to a stunning 3-0 loss at the hands of an inspired Brighton.
This comes as second favourites Manchester City have surged to the top of the standings after winning their opening seven matches and moving three points clear of the Gunners. While Arsenal have returned to winning ways, they are still three short of City at the summit.
The start of the season has seen both City and Arsenal impress, but the true test begins now. The Gunners lost their fifth game and will need to ensure that they do not lose more ground on the leaders.
Chelsea come in next after an inconsistent start has seen the Blues impress when they are good, but they have been frustrating when things have not gone their way.
For Manchester United and Liverpool, dropping points across their opening seven is far from ideal, meaning they will feel they simply have to start winning more often or they will find themselves someway short of the summit.
