Club Friendly Best Bets - August 8

Juventus have impressed in pre-season, with four matches coming and going without defeat. Their 0-0 draw with Basel on July 18 has been followed by wins over St Liege (1-0), Nice (2-0) and Chelsea (1-0). Their win over their Premier League opponents was hardly convincing, with both sides poor across the game. However, Juve managed to muster the one moment of magic in the game as they made it three consecutive triumphs in pre-season. Having beaten Inter in two of their last three meetings, I back Juve to secure another win in pre-season. 

Chelsea trundle into their latest friendly on the back of three very unconvincing performances so far. Their 6-4 win over WS Wanderers came as they tore their opponents apart despite seeing their own defence stutter. They were then beaten 2-1 by Tottenham before an insipid performance against Juventus saw Chelsea barely threaten. Now, they turn their attention to a clash with an opponent they have dominated of late. Five consecutive wins over AC Milan heading into this one shows Chelsea have been too good for the Italian side, and I back the Premier League outfit to find some form.
