Brazil arrive for their Round of 16 clash on the back of an impressive three-game winning run at the 2026 World Cup. While wins over Haiti and Scotland were simple, they were pushed all the way by Japan. Indeed, they needed to come from behind to beat Japan, with a 95th minute goal required to avert extra-time. While Brazil have kept clean sheets in two of their four at the competition this year, they have not looked completely secure, and this will likely see Erling Haaland eyeing up more goals at the competition. 

Mexico have been outstanding at the 2026 World Cup, with the side winning all four of their matches without conceding a single goal. Wins over South Africa (2-0), South Korea (1-0) and Czechia (3-0) saw Mexico top their group, while they beat Ecuador 2-0 in the Round of 32. Their brilliant run has seen Mexico edge closer to an unlikely World Cup trophy. Their clash with England is their first big test, but they will be confident that they can secure a fifth consecutive win. The likelihood will be that most of their plans centre around finding a way to keep Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane out of the game. If Mexico can start quickly then they will be hugely confident, especially if England are to struggle to create clear chances as they have done across the tournament.
