Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Women T20 Preview & Tips

Pakistan may have been able to hammer Hong Kong by 72 runs in their last outing, but they were beaten comfortably by India in the game before in their only real challenge at the competition so far.

Sri Lanka Women edged to a four-wicket win over Bangladesh in their last group game as they secured top spot in their group.

Pakistan have lost six of their last 10 in the T20 game (W4)

Sri Lanka have won six of their last 10 T20's against Pakistan, with the latter winning the other four meetings.

Pakistan Women Form

Pakistan Women were far too good for Hong Kong Women in their last match as they stormed to 143/8 before bowling Hong Kong out for 71. Nashra Sandhu proved unplayable on the day as she returned figures of 6/7 as she tore through Hong Kong's batting line-up.

While a big win heading into the semi-finals is important as Pakistan look to build momentum, the quality of opponent raises quickly heading into their last-four clash. Against Sri Lanka, Pakistan have lost three of their last four T20's, while the side have been beaten in six of their last 10 in the shortest format.

An inability to secure wins over Sri Lanka has generally come when Pakistan have gone in to bat first. While runs on the board can be very important, I predict that Pakistan's issues against Sri Lanka will come to the fore as they are eliminated in the semi-finals.

Sri Lanka Women Form

Sri Lanka Women have been very impressive at the Asia Cup in 2026 with three consecutive wins seeing the side end at the top of their group.

Victories over the UAE (by nine wickets), Indonesia (by 75 runs) and Bangladesh (by four wickets) has seen Sri Lanka rarely truly troubled. Even in their four-wicket win over Bangladesh, they were able to rally from 82/6 as they eventually cruised home.

Outside of India, Sri Lanka are the best side in the competition. They have continually proved themselves against their supposed equals in Bangladesh and Pakistan, and I back them to notch yet another win over the latter.

I am backing Sri Lanka to defeat Pakistan and move into the Asia Cup final as they make it four consecutive wins at the tournament in 2026.
