England arrive for their opening game of the 2026 World Cup looking to defeat the toughest side they will face in the group stage. With Ghana and Panama to come, a win over Croatia would see the English put one foot in the knockout stages, although they can take little for granted against an experienced Croatia side. Despite failing to win two of their last four, England arrive on the back of two wins having beaten New Zealand (1-0) and Costa Rica (3-0). Harry Kane continues to star for England, and he is our pick to hit the back of the net in this one, with the striker netting at least once in 26 of his last 33 matches for club and country. 

Czechia would have been hugely disappointed to have seen their opener against South Korea end in a 2-1 defeat. Despite going a goal up, they contrived to let their lead slip before seeing a point evade them too. The physical side were outplayed with the ball as South Korea impressed. With a clash against Mexico to come, Czechia know they need to win this game to keep their fate in their own hands. However, their opponents will be looking to showcase a more resolute defence in their second game, and I predict this will see the pair cancel each-other out.
