MLS Best Bets - August 2

DC United are hoping to take points from the outstanding side in the Eastern Conference of the MLS as they host Nashville this weekend. Their recent 2-1 win over Toronto extended their unbeaten run to four matches, although it is worth noting that they have drawn three of those games. At home, DC have won just three of their eight outings, with two matches ending as draws and three games ending in defeat. It is also a worry for DC that they have not beaten their opponents since 2024. In this time. they have lost three matches and drawn two games, and I predict that the home side will succumb to another defeat. 

Inter Miami continue their pursuit of Nashville at the summit of the Eastern Conference with the side sat two points behind the leaders. Miami boast 11 wins, four draws and just two defeats this season, while their 43 goals scored is the most of any side in either conference. The one major worry for the home side has been a leaky defence that has conceded 30 times, more than double that of the leaders. Positively for Miami is the fact they have won their last three against their opponents, although two of these wins have been with both teams scoring.
