Tunisia vs Netherlands
Tunisia have been enduring a torrid 2026 World Cup, with the side currently without a point following their opening two matches. A 5-1 loss to Sweden in their opener was followed by a 4-0 loss to Japan, with Tunisia beaten by a four-goal margin twice in two games. Their inability to score goals and put the opposition under any form of pressure is a real problem for Tunisia, and I predict they will slump to another heavy defeat in their final game.
The Netherlands were not to be denied in their second match of the World Cup as they humiliated Sweden in a stunning 5-1 win. This win, coupled with their 2-2 draw with Japan in their opener, means they are in control of Group F via their superior goal difference to Japan in second and the fact they take on pointless Tunisia in their final game. A similarly powerful performance in their last match will see them hammer Tunisia, and I back them to star going forward as they easily beat their opponents.
Japan vs Sweden
Japan vs Sweden is a direct shot at a top two spot in Group F of the World Cup. Japan arrive for this one after hammering Tunisia 4-0 in their last game. Their 2-2 draw with the Netherlands in their opener saw Japan impress, and they will be confident they can channel this draw into beating a side that the Netherlands beat 5-1 in their last outing. Victory over Sweden could send Japan top if the Netherlands fail to beat Tunisia. While Japan will be desperate to top the group, they will be completely focussed on their own exploits, and I back them to hand Sweden a stunning defeat in their final group game.
Sweden began the tournament in impressive style as they put Tunisia to the sword in a 5-1 win. However, victory over the weakest team in the group papered over many of the cracks in the side. They were then completely outplayed in a 5-1 loss to the Netherlands that has put them on the backfoot against a strong opponent. The odds show Sweden are the outsiders in this one, and I predict they are entirely deserving of this tag. Across their last 10, Sweden have lost five times, drawn two games and won three times. With their poor run in mind, I am backing them to slump to a defeat.
Verdict
I am backing Netherlands to hand Tunisia another heavy defeat as Japan go unbeaten in the group with a win over Sweden.
