Trent Rockets vs Southern Brave Preview & Tips

Trent Rockets maintained their place at the top of The Hundred standings following a simple six-wicket win over MI London in their last match.

Southern Brave are out of contention for a place in The Hundred playoffs after slipping eight points short of the top three with one game to come.

The Rockets have won three of their previous six against the Brave, with the latter winning the other three.

Trent Rockets Form

The Trent Rockets have been the outstanding side in The Hundred this season after surging to the summit with 24 points from a possible 28 having lost a single match.

Their sixth win of the campaign came via a comfortable six-wicket win over MI London. In that game, MI slumped to 147/7 as Sam Curran's 72 from 46 dragged the side towards a competitive total. However, against the best side in the competition, this tally was far too low, with Mitchell Santner's 52 not out from 23 proving the difference.

While the Rockets lead Sunrisers Leeds by four points on the ladder, they cannot afford to be complacent. A big defeat in this one could see them slip down to second, but I do not see them losing to the Brave as they secure a seventh consecutive win.

Southern Brave Form

Southern Brave's season has been hugely disappointing, with the side picking up just eight points from their opening seven matches.

A pair of wins over Birmingham Phoenix and London Spirit had given the Brave some hope, but they have since lost to Welsh Fire and Manchester Super Giants to see their top three hopes dashed. Their latest defeat saw the Brave fail to chase down the Super Giants' 149/8 as they slumped to 139/6 in yet another poor performance.

With the Brave out of the competition and on a two-game losing run, I predict that they will slip to another defeat as their campaign in 2026 ends with another loss.

I am backing the Trent Rockets to claim their seventh win in eight league games as they head into the knockout stages on the back of a win.
