Bangladesh vs Australia 3rd T20 Preview & Tips
Bangladesh left it too late in their chase of 197 to win the second T20 as they slumped to a seven-run loss to go 2-0 down in the series.
Australia were excellent in the second T20 as Matt Renshaw’s 89 not out from 52 led them to what proved a winning total.
- Bangladesh have lost their last four T20’s against Australia
Head To Head
Australia have won six of their last 10 T20’s against Bangladesh with the latter winning the other four meetings.
Bangladesh Form
Bangladesh have been competitive across their first two T20’s against Australia without ever really threatening to defeat the touring side.
Their score of 131 from 19 overs in the first T20 was not enough as Australia battled to a four-wicket win with 10 deliveries to spare. The second T20 saw Bangladesh notch a positive score of 189/6, but it was not enough to eclipse Australia’s 196/5. Ultimately, the same inadequacies have reared their heads again, with Bangladesh unable to bowl Australia out, while they have been outscored twice.
Bangladesh are very much in the battle to win the third T20, but their issues with bat and ball across the series worry me. This will be the third consecutive T20 they have played against Australia in Chattogram, and the touring side look to have worked the surface out better.
With the ball likely to spin, I predict a lower scoring game in which the side with the most adept spinner will come out on top.
Australia Form
Australia have been excellent across their T20 series against Bangladesh as they have built back from a stunning 2-1 ODI series loss by going 2-0 up in their T20 series with one game to come.
Matt Renshaw was the match winner with a stunning 89 not out from 52 as he really got Australia’s scoring moving. With the ball, Aaron Hardie returned figures of 2/40 which, on a day in which only 11 wickets fell, seemed like a decent return for the Aussies.
With a third successive game to be played in Chattogram, I am backing Australia to continue to prove they have got the feel of the pitch better than their hosts. While this one will not likely be easy with the two previous T20’s on this pitch seeing it deteriorate, I am backing the Aussies to make the most out of their winning run to secure another victory.
Verdict
I am backing Australia to make up for their 2-1 ODI series loss by hammering Bangladesh in a 3-0 win.
