UAE vs Canada ODI Preview & Tips

The UAE are looking to build on a solid 54-run win over Oman in their last ODI as they bounced back from a disappointing six-run loss to Nepal in the game before.

Canada slumped to a five-wicket defeat at the hands of the USA as they failed to build on a two-wicket win over the Netherlands in the previous game.

Canada have lost nine of their last 11 in the ODI game (W2)

Canada have won three of their five previous ODI's against the UAE, with the latter winning the other two.

UAE Form

The UAE are in need of a positive run of results in the ODI game after slipping to the foot of the standings in the ICC CWC League 2.

Seven wins in 25 attempts is a hugely disappointing run, although they have won two of their last three. Wins over Oman twice have come alongside a tight six-run loss to Nepal. While Oman in fourth are 16 points ahead of them, the UAE need to focus on themselves as they look to climb up the standings.

Positively for the UAE is their current run in the ODI game and Canada's poor form. The UAE have not had much go their way across the competition so far, but I back them to secure a third win in four outings in the tournament as they hand Canada another defeat.

Canada have been very poor of late, with the side slipping down to sixth in the ICC CWC League 2 standings with 11 wins in 28 attempts.

The 24 points they have collected means they are only seven short of Oman in fourth, although they are a sizeable 19 behind the USA at the summit. Victory in this one would help to consolidate their position above the UAE, but securing the points will be easier said than done.

Of their 13 total defeats, nine have come across their last 11. An inability to consistently win games has likely seen their hopes of getting anywhere near the summit dashed, and I predict that their disappointing run will get extended as they lose to the side currently sitting at the bottom.
