Birmingham Phoenix vs MI London Preview & Tips - Phoenix to end their season with yet another defeat

MI London are still in with a chance of taking a playoff spot, but they have to beat the Phoenix and hope that other results go their way. 

Their latest outing was a bottom of the ladder clash with the London Spirit, with both battling to ensure they are spared the embarrassment of being the competition's bottom side. Despite battling to a competitive 162/4, the Phoenix's bowlers failed to deal with the threat of Liam Livingstone (66 from 30) and Dewald Brevis (55 not out from 31). The pair broke the back of the chase and left the Phoenix cut adrift at the bottom of the ladder. 

Positively for the Phoenix is their four wins in five previous meetings with MI London. However, their form this season alludes to their 80% winning record against their opponents taking a reduction as the Phoenix slump to a seventh defeat in eight this season

Their last outing saw them comfortably beaten by the Trent Rockets in a six-wicket loss. Batting first, MI saw Sam Curran hammer his way to 72 from 46, but he was given little support as the side posted an underwhelming 147/7. With the ball, MI struggled for wickets as the Rockets secured the points with 10 deliveries and six wickets to spare. This defeat put on show how far off the best MI are right now. 

Despite this defeat, MI can fall back on a match against the worst team in the competition. Their form against the Phoenix is poor and this clash is also on the road. However, the home team have been awful in 2026, while MI have won two of their three away from home in a solid run on the road.
