ASEAN Cup Best Bets - September 26

Pakistan arrive for their opening ASEAN Cup First Division match with a woeful record against Thailand. If they are to begin their campaign with a win then they will need to finally breach a defence they have failed to score against across each of their four previous meetings. In this time, Pakistan have lost with an aggregate score of 15-0. Will their three-game winning run heading into this one count for much? It seems unlikely. Beating the Maldives and Afghanistan twice has ensured they arrive in some form, but it seems incredibly unlikely that they will seriously trouble their opponent. 

Vietnam have been brilliant across their last 32 matches, winning 28 times and drawing four games. Of course, the quality of opponent has not been in the world class bracket, but they have continually beaten the opposition in front of them, which is all they can do. This clash is another they will feel they should win after securing victory in five of their six previous meetings, with one game ending as a draw. With matches against Thailand and Pakistan to come, Vietnam are my pick to hit the ground running as they take all three points from their opponents.
