Nashville continue to dominate the Eastern Conference of the MLS, with the side currently 11 points clear of New England Revolution in second. Their 3-0 win over Chicago Fire was a big result as they put an end to a three-game winless run. At home, no side has been able to match Nashville across either Conference. Indeed, Vancouver have taken 28 points from 14 home games in the Western Conference, with this some way short of Nashville's 37 points from 13 home games. Nashville have kept clean sheets in their last three home games against Toronto, while they have won their previous two home meetings against their opponents. 

Vancouver were able to build a five-point lead between themselves and Houston in second, but they know they cannot afford to rest on their laurels, with LAFC in sixth just eight points behind them. At home, Vancouver have been patchy of late, with three of their last five ending in defeat. Despite this, they still boast the best home record in the Conference after winning nine of their 14, drawing once and losing four times. Interestingly, the last two meetings between the sides have ended in draws, but the difference in seasons between the teams is massive. The home side have won 15 of their 25 and top the Western Conference, while DC United have won six of their 25 and sit in 11th in the Eastern Conference. If Vancouver are serious about topping the standings, this is a game they simply have to win.
