Canada get back to the football field for the first time since their impressive run to the Round of 16 at the World Cup that they co-hosted alongside Mexico and the USA. Across the tournament, Canada looked solid, drawing with Bosnia & Herzegovina in their group before hammering Qatar 6-0 and losing 2-1 to Switzerland. Their 1-0 win over South Africa in the Round of 32 gave Canada's fans hope, but they were easily beaten by Morocco in a 3-0 loss in the Round of 16. This run at the World Cup will have Canada confident heading into their first friendly, but previous meetings have both ended in draws. Their most recent clash saw the pair play out a 0-0 draw, and I predict that Canada will return to the pitch with a draw. 

Mexico return to the international game on the back of a heart-breaking 3-2 loss to England in the Round of 16 at the World Cup. Prior to this, they had beaten South Africa, South Korea and Czechia in their group before they eliminated Ecuador in a 2-0 win. Defeat to England brought an end to their seven-game winning run, and they will be desperate to start a new winning streak this week. Their clash with Colombia sees the sides fancied to challenge each-other, but Mexico have lost their last four to their opponents. With their last win over Colombia coming back in 2010, I predict that Mexico will slump to consecutive defeats.
