Delhi Capitals vs Lucknow Super Giants Betting Tips – Delhi start favourites as KL Rahul, Pant switch teams

Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants will begin their IPL 2025 campaign with a match in Vizag on Monday night. Both teams have undergone several changes but none bigger than former Delhi Captains captain Rishabh Pant having now moved to Lucknow.

Apart from that narrative, plenty of other storylines have opened up for this game, including KL Rahul having also switched teams – moving from LSG to Delhi Capitals after a contentious period with the franchise.

Delhi will start as favourites but only because they seem to have more of their core together, which includes captain Axar Patel. The spin-bowling lineup includes Axar and Kuldeep, who will be crucial if the conditions are a bit slow.

Delhi have one of the best bowling attacks in IPL 2025, including Mitchell Starc, T Natarajan, Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. The one issue for Delhi in this game will be how many left-handers are there in LSG’s lineup, which could throw a spanner in the works.

From a batting standpoint, you would expect Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul to open for Delhi this year. If Jake Fraser-McGurk gets a game, then either du Plessis or Rahul could move one position down.

KL Rahul is uncertain for the first game after he recently joined the camp after attending to a personal matter. Karun Nair should start the season in the middle order.

Lucknow Super Giants Form

Lucknow have done a fine job in the mega auction. Rishabh Pant will lead the team but he also has plenty of attacking options in the middle order, including Nicholas Pooran and David Miller.

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram could break up that with positions in the middle order. From a bowling standpoint, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep will lead the Indian contingent.

Lucknow will be desperate to find some Indian right-handed options to split the left-handers in their team. Mayank Yadav has been ruled out for the start of this tournament while Shardul Thakur has joined the squad for Mohsin Khan.
