India vs South Africa 1st T20 Preview & Tips

India are looking to build on their recent 2-1 ODI series win over South Africa as they aim to continue to make up for their 2-0 Test series loss to the same opponents.

South Africa have been poor across their recent run of T20’s, with the nation losing four of their last five games.

India have won six of their last 10 against South Africa, with the Proteas winning the other four.

As the formats have gotten shorter, India have gotten better, with the home side going from losing 2-0 in their Test series against South Africa to beating their opponents 2-1 in the ODI game.

Now, India host the Proteas in the shortest of the three major formats, and they will be confident that they can secure a third consecutive win in the T20 game after winning their last two against the Aussies.

With India outstanding with the bat across the ODI series, I back them to take South Africa’s bowling unit to task as they win the opening T20.

South Africa have impressed across their multi-formats series against India, with their 2-0 Test win seeing the touring side notch an outstanding pair of results.

However, they have struggled to contain India’s batting line-up of late, with the home team going big in each ODI. Now, with the chance to really cut loose in the 20 over game, South Africa need to temper containing India when they bat and scoring quickly themselves.

Scoring well when someone like Jasprit Bumrah is bowling is far easier said than done, and I predict that the Proteas will struggle to contain the world’s best multi-formats bowler as they slip to a frustrating loss.
