The Netherlands get back to the international game for the first time since their incredibly disappointing 2026 World Cup campaign. Despite remaining unbeaten in the group stage on the back of a draw with Japan and big wins over Sweden and Tunisia, they were eliminated by Morocco in a 2-1 loss. This defeat saw a four-game unbeaten run across competitions brought to an end, with the Netherlands ultimately given a lesson in how to win a knockout match. Their clash with Germany is the first step in yet another rebuild, with the side a long way short of the very best. 

Norway became one of the teams to support for neutrals at the World Cup, with their impressive run to the quarter-finals seeing them beat Iraq, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Brazil. Their defeat to France in the group-stage came as their first team was given a rest. Against England in the quarter-final, Norway struggled for real momentum as their opponents defended well. Erling Haaland was excellent across the World Cup, netting in four of his five outings. He has also looked good at the start of the new club season with his last five matches ending with at least one goal scored. With Norway hoping to catch Denmark cold, I back Haaland to start well as he scores for the home side.
