Italy will feel that this is the perfect chance to begin a rebuild of their national side after failing to reach the World Cup in 2026. Too often they have failed to come through on the quality in their side, with defeat on penalties to Bosnia & Herzegovina back in March seeing their hopes of making the finals this year brought to an end. Their last two matches ended in 1-0 friendly wins over Luxembourg and Greece, and they will hope that this can enable them to extend their unbeaten run against Belgium to six matches. In this time, Italy have won four games and drawn once. While Italy have been far from perfect, they have generally had too much for a Belgium side that are also major underachievers. 

Türkiye return to international duty looking to make up for an early exit from the 2026 World Cup. Defeats to Australia and Paraguay left them without a point and, despite beating the USA 3-2, they had too much to do in their final game as they missed out on one of the positions as a best third-placed side. Three goals against the USA did little to paper over the cracks of an attack that failed to score against the Aussies and Paraguay, and I predict more issues for the side against a French team that have kept clean sheets in three of their last four.
