Morocco looked good at the 2026 World Cup as they managed to get up until their quarter-final against France before they were beaten. A 1-1 draw with Brazil was a good result before they beat Scotland, Haiti, the Netherlands and Canada. Their 2-0 loss to France was one most predicted but, as is the way with knockout football at a major tournament, they would have hoped they might have secured a stunning result. Now, attention returns to Africa Cup Of Nations qualifying. Morocco are the side to back when it comes to getting out of their group and they will be confident they can do this, especially if they can win their opener. Their last four matches against Gabon have seen both sides score, while Morocco have won their last two meetings. 

Egypt were in fairly good form across their World Cup campaign as they went without defeat up until a stunning 3-2 loss to Argentina in their Round of 16 clash. Prior to this, they had drawn with Belgium and Iran, while they beat New Zealand and eliminated Australia on penalties. Their clash with Angola is seen as one they should win quite comfortably, although draws in their last two meetings is interesting. Before these stalemates, Egypt had won two consecutive meetings.
