Nashville vs Atlanta
Nashville have been outstanding across their MLS campaign, with the side storming to the top of the Eastern Conference. 10 wins have coming alongside a single loss and three draws. While Inter Miami are just two points behind Nashville, they have played one more match, meaning this is a major chance to move clear of Miami. On their own patch, Nashville are the only side in either conference yet to lose, with six wins and a draw coming from their seven games. Their last meeting ended in a 2-0 win for Nashville back in April, and I back the home side to make it eight consecutive matches in which they have seen over 2.5 goals scored at home.
Atlanta have really struggled for any kind of form this season, with just three wins coming from their opening 14 matches. Their points tally has been hindered this season by two draws and nine defeats, with United now seven short of DC United in ninth. Away from home, Atlanta have lost four of their six, and I do not see anything other than another loss on the road for United.
LA Galaxy vs LAFC
LA Galaxy have been enduring an inconsistent season so far, with five wins, five draws and five defeats coming in their opening 15 matches. An inability to consistently beat the opposition has seen them fall 12 points short of Vancouver at the summit, although they are still in the top nine, three clear of San Diego in 10th. Worrying is their home form. Seven matches have resulted in nine points from two wins, three draws and two defeats. With their last two home matches ending in draws and two stalemates against their opponents in 2025, I back Galaxy to drop more points on their own patch.
LAFC have been better than their rivals this season, although not by much. Seven wins, three draws and five defeats have culminated in 24 points, with LAFC four clear of their hosts this week. Their away record has been patchy, with the side winning twice, drawing twice and losing three times. Their last three away games have resulted in a draw and two defeats, with the side clearly poor away from home. While they will arrive looking to take advantage of LA Galaxy's poor form, I do not back them to take all three points.
Verdict
I am backing Nashville to continue to impress as the Los Angeles derby sees the spoils shared.
