Iva Jovic vs Iga Swiatek Preview & Tips
Iva Jovic eliminated Kamilla Rakhimova 6-1 7-5 in her last outing as she set up a clash with Iga Swiatek in the fourth round.
Iga Swiatek had a real fight on her hands in the third round as she battled past Donna Vekic in a 4-6 7-6 6-2 victory.
- Swiatek has won 229 times on hard courts across her career (L60)
Head To Head
This will be the first time the pair have met in a competitive tennis match.
Iva Jovic Form
Iva Jovic has been excellent across her last six matches, with her fourth win in that run seeing her clinch the title in Guadalajara by beating Peyton Stearns 6-4 6-2.
Since then, Jovic has beaten Harriet Dart 2-6 6-3 6-3 before knocking Kamilla Rakhimova out in a 6-1 7-5 victory. Her clash in the last round was very interesting as she had to pivot from easily winning the first set to really fighting for the second set.
Now, Jovic turns her attention to one of the best players in the women's game. While Swiatek has her moments in which she wobbles in a tournament, Jovic will still need to be at her very best throughout their clash.
I back Jovic to take a set from her opponent but I do not see her winning this one as her six-match winning run comes to an end.
Iga Swiatek Form
Iga Swiatek is looking to get back to winning tennis competitions after a pair of disappointing runs at the last two tournaments she has played a part in.
At the Cincinnati Open, Swiatek was beaten by Jessica Pegula in the semi-final, while she was eliminated in the fourth round at the US Open. Her inability to come through on her undoubted talented this season is a major worry after a sole triumph in Toronto in 2026.
With her best run at a Slam coming in the Australian Open where she was eliminated in the quarter-final, Swiatek will be desperate to go on a run of wins as the season draws to a close. While I do not back Swiatek to come through this match unscathed, I do predict that she will win despite dropping a set.
Verdict
I am backing Swiatek to secure a much-needed win in the fourth round as she eliminates Jovic in a 2-1 victory.
