India vs Pakistan Women T20 Preview & Tips

India Women easily beat Hong Kong in their last game as they hammered their opponents by 137 runs in a statement win.

Pakistan Women also enjoyed a comfortable win in their last outing as they eased past Thailand in a 35-run triumph.

Head To Head

India have won eight of their last 10 T20's against Pakistan, with the latter winning the other two meetings.

India Women Form

India Women went into their clash with Hong Kong as overwhelming favourites, and they doubled down on their dominance in a massive 137-run win.

Smriti Mandhana was superb with the bat as she plundered 124 runs from 64 deliveries. Her innings, which featured 14 boundaries and seven maximums, saw the opener more than double the total amount of runs scored by Hong Kong (56 runs).

Deepti Sharma (3/9) impressed with the ball, although she was outdone by Mandhana, who took all of the headlines. Now, India turn their attention to taking on an opponent that is in good form. This is their first test at the Asia Cup, but it is one I expect them to pass.

India have won their last four T20's against their rivals, while they have notched eight wins in their last 10 in the shortest format. With Mandhana in great form, I back her to continue to plunder runs.

Pakistan Women Form

Pakistan Women have been impressive of late, with the side arriving on the back of a pair of wins in the shortest format.

Their four-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their final T20 clash was quickly followed by a 35-run win over Thailand. While they were backed to defeat their opponents easily, Pakistan looked resolute in their win as they went from 23/3 to 119/9. While Thailand were unlikely to seriously trouble Pakistan, this was still a good workout for the side.

With a clash against winless Hong Kong still to come, Pakistan will know this game is not make or break for them. However, their likely defeat will be a fifth consecutive loss to India in the shortest format, with this underlining how far behind the best they are.
