London Spirit vs Birmingham Phoenix Preview & Tips - The Phoenix to hand hapless Spirit another defeat

Birmingham Phoenix were brushed aside by Sunrisers Leeds in their last game as they slipped to a 45-run loss at the hands of their opponents. 

Batting first, the Spirit saw Lhuan-dre Pretorius battle his way to 52 from 28 while David Willey notched 31 from 18. Their score of 160/5 always looked short of truly competitive, and so it proved as MI eased to a four-wicket win with six balls remaining. MI's win saw them move 12 points clear of the Spirit in seventh, with the side taking just four points from a possible 24. 

Their issues across the season have been well documented, with the side now well short of the top three places after a season to forget. 

In the field first, the Phoenix saw the Sunrisers battle their way to 169/7 as Ryan Rickelton's 65 from 37 ensured the Phoenix had something to chase. Their old issues with the bat appeared once against as Sean Dickson's 34 from 27 proved their top score. Ultimately, their 45-run loss was one that showcased their issues with bat and ball, with both culminating in what will be a group-stage exit from the competition in 2026.
