MI London vs Trent Rockets Preview & Tips - MI backed for statement win over the Rockets

Trent Rockets easily beat Birmingham Phoenix last time out as they cruised to a seven-wicket win over their floundering opponents. 

Despite slipping to defeats at the hands of Welsh Fire and London Spirit, MI have managed to beat Sunrisers Leeds, Southern Brave, Manchester Super Giants and the Spirit. MI are only denied top of the ladder by the Rockets and their five wins and 20 points. Their clash this week provides a huge chance to move level on points with the leaders and dispel any lingering feeling of near invincibility. 

In their six previous meetings, MI have won four times, while they are eyeing a third successive win over their opponents. With the lure of moving to the summit or at least matching the points tally of the Rockets, I am backing MI to secure their fifth win in seven matches this season.

Their last outing saw the Rockets return the favour to the Phoenix as they hammered the only side to have beaten them this season. In their latest game, the Rockets easily chased down a target of 112 with seven wickets and 17 deliveries to spare. 

Five consecutive wins heading into this one proves that the Rockets are the form side in the competition right now and will be very difficult to stop. However, four defeats in six previous meetings with MI is a worrying run, and I predict that their impressive streak will be brought to an end.
