What a match we have in store in Ligue 1 as second placed Lens host leaders PSG in their penultimate match of the season in midweek.

Lens arrive for this one on the back of a four-game unbeaten run that includes a brace of wins at home and two draws on the road. At home, Lens have the best record in the competition having won 14 of their 16 matches with their other two games ending in defeat. With 42 points from their 16 games, they have secured one more point than PSG.

The worry for Lens will be that they have not won any of their last seven against their opponents. Lens have not been on the same level as PSG in recent years, but could that change this season? A win in this one would see the title race go down to the final day in a stunning turn of events.

PSG were not at their free-scoring best at the weekend as they edged to a 1-0 win over Brest to make it four without defeat in the league. Currently sat six points clear of Lens with two games to go, anything other than a defeat in this match will see them secure the title with a game to spare.

On the road, PSG have won 10 of their 15 matches, drawing twice and losing three times. Having dropped points in a third of their away games, PSG have shown that they are far from perfect. With PSG knowing a draw would be enough to secure them the title I am backing them to be slightly more cagey in this one. I predict that this will see Lens avoid defeat in their top of the table clash.

Lazio vs Inter Milan

Lazio just about edged into the Coppa Italia final on the back of a penalty shootout win over Atalanta in the last round. Both legs ended level, with a 1-1 away draw for Lazio seeing them go into the lottery of a penalty shootout. While they did come through, they did not look hugely comfortable.

Prior to their semi-final against Atalanta, Lazio had edged past AC Milan (1-0) and Bologna (2-1). Their ability to find a way to get through games has been impressive, but they now face the best side in Italy in a straight clash for the trophy. Having failed to win any of their last nine against Inter (L7, D2), I predict Lazio will slump to a frustrating loss in the final.

Inter Milan came through a tough battle with Como in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia as they built on a 0-0 draw in the first-leg with a 3-2 home triumph that came via an 89th minute winner. With Inter slipping 2-0 down in the second-leg just after half-time, the writing looked to be on the wall. However, Inter utilised their champion spirit to rally and hit back with three unanswered goals.

Now, Inter will be looking to build on a brilliant recent run against Lazio that has seen the side win four of their last five meetings. While I back Inter to win, I predict they will not do it the easy way as they fail to keep a clean sheet for the fourth time in their last five Coppa Italia matches.

I am backing Lens to avoid defeat in their mouth-watering clash with PSG as Inter Milan secure the Coppa Italia trophy despite failing to keep a clean sheet.
